Shockwave therapy

Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted acoustic pressure waves to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes and promote tissue repair.

In podiatry, shockwave therapy is commonly used to treat persistent foot and heel conditions, including plantar fasciitis, Achilles tendinopathy, heel pain and other chronic tendon injuries. It works by stimulating circulation, encouraging tissue regeneration and helping to reduce pain.

Treatment is performed using a handheld device applied to the affected area. It offers a non-surgical treatment option that may help relieve ongoing pain, improve function and support recovery, particularly when other conservative treatments have not provided sufficient relief.
